Matthew 19:14. “Jesus said,“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
So, the kingdom of heaven is made up of children, right? Yes, we have a Heavenly Father and we are His children when we decide to live in His kingdom/house. How do good children relate with a good father? They love him so they have a desire to please him. They recognize his authority, power, wisdom is greater than theirs. They honor and respect him. They listen when he speaks and are obedient. They know he is trying to teach them the right way for their own good. They are eager for his instruction and desire to grow into being just like him. They know he is just and right, so pay close attention to correction and discipline…..learning to change that behavior. They practice living right in his ways. They also practice changing bad habits or attitudes. They are humble and willing to say they are sorry for their errors and wanting their own way. Actually, they most enjoy being with him. Work is much better with him than without him….play is a wonderful delight.
These children had been waiting patiently to be next to Jesus and receive His blessing. Jesus said, “Yes, let these children come to Me…do not forbid them….my whole kingdom is made up of children who come to Me.” What kind of child am I?
