Revival does not come by singing, dancing, and celebration. Revival comes by intercession and weeping at the exposing of darkness and sin by the true Light. Revival/ new birth comes by conviction, repentance, and surrender of self to God. The work of the Holy Spirit is to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). And then He confirms the saving work of Yeshua/Jesus as our only Savior (John 16: 13-15).
Revival is a battle in the soul. It demands, “Who will be Lord in life?” It declares holiness and the need to be sanctified and set apart from the world….to turn around and be separated unto Yeshua/Jesus in all of life. But turning from the negative realization of sin to the positive submission to Yeshua/Jesus will bring true joy.
Blessed are the humble for theirs is the kingdom of heaven; blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted; blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be completely satisfied; blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God! (Matt. 5)
Remember the 23rd Psalm? The only way to feast at God’s table in the presence of enemies is to go through the valley of the shadow of self-death. To take up the cross and follow Yeshua/Jesus. We must lay our lives down to live in Him. He revives us and breathes His breath of eternal life, the Holy Spirit, in us. Revival is being born again in mind, heart, and will. People do not want to hear about sinfulness, repentance, submission, and obedience. But that is the way to true revival. Crying endures for the night, but then comes the bright Morning Star! Will you join me to pray for the Holy Spirit to work true revival in our lives and in the lives of others?
