“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Do you now have a better idea of what Jesus is trying to teach us? Yes!
So, now I have chosen to build on the Rock (the goal at the end of the sermon). I know the Rock is Jesus and His kingdom is where to build.
How did I start, on what crucial foundation? I started with recognizing sin and how utterly poor I was in spirit. I began repenting of my partaking in sin. I changed my family/citizenship and whose authority I come under. I took a vow and made an earnest commitment. I realized the only way to spiritual blessing into the heavenly kingdom is through Jesus, the Savior. I am determined to be loyal to live in my new family ways and fight against all His adversaries.
I now live with my eyes wide open to my need and the poor condition of the world I left and the people who still live in it. I must keep building!
Next, Matt: 5 verse 4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
As you think on these words, what do you think Jesus is trying to teach us?
