We are comforted by God so that we might also help to comfort others.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5, “ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds THROUGH CHRIST.”
If mourning, depression or trouble hits you, remember the promise, the blessing, the resulting joy of Jesus…..those who mourn and suffer, will be comforted. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalms 30: 4-5)
Remember Revelation 3:17-22 and Isaiah 61: 1-3 from previous blogs? In Jesus, we have true comfort. Jesus gives us gold refined in the fires. He clothes us in robes of righteousness. He heals our eyes so we can see reality and truth. He makes us spiritually rich as children of our Heavenly King. He gives us real inner joy, comfort, hope in Him….in the midst of all circumstances. Worldly “treasures” cannot compare.
Keep the faith…keep standing on the Rock and our Comforter! And remember to be available to help Him comfort others also.
