Mercy/Grace and Sin

If God is so abundant in grace and willing to forgive, then I don’t need to be concerned about sin….right?

The apostle Paul answers this in Romans 6:15-16, “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you know that to whom you present yourselves to obey, you are that one’s slave whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness.”

We need to forsake sin and pursue righteousness…it is the good fight of faith!

Are you beginning to see how this whole Rock foundation fits together?  Our relationship with our Heavenly Father is a higher level of the good, loving parent and child relationship. It may sound complicated, but we see it demonstrated before our eyes daily!  Children who love and respect their parents try to do right and please them.  Any child who thinks they can do whatever they want because their loving Dad will forgive them anyway, is not in right (righteous) mind, good character, or pure heart….and eventually will end up in big trouble.

No matter how old we get, we never outgrow our Heavenly Father!  He is full of love and grace, but that is no reason to quit being on guard of going the wrong way.  Because we love and respect Him, we try to go His good way and separate ourselves from sin, being thankful for His love, mercy, and grace when we mess up.
