(long but I could not find how to cut it short..His Word is so important to me.)
The pure in HEART will see God. It did not say the pure in mind, pure in emotions, pure in body, or pure in actions. We are currently fallen beings in a fallen world, so that is not possible in and of ourselves. But, we can be pure in heart through Yeshua Jesus and we can guard our heart so that we stay pure in heart….in our real inner person.
Pure means to be of one substance and uncontaminated. Our heart can have one focus and one love in Yeshua Jesus. But, we still must choose this continually and consciously. Think on these verses….
Matthew 6:33, “… seek FIRST His kingdom and His righteousness…”
Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Joshua 245:15, “….choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve….”
Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Mathew 15:18, “But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart.”
But a mouth can also be hypocritical…
Matthew 15:8, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”
Matthew 13:15, “For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn (repent), and I would heal them.”
Guard our thoughts! Matthew 15:19, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts….”
Matthew 13:19, “When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart.”
Matthew 22:37, “Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your HEART, and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
Hebrews 10:16, “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
James 4:8, “Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
We have a part in this. Purify our hearts in relationship with a pure and holy God! I must ask myself, “Am I keeping my heart pure? Am I guarding my mind and thoughts? Am I guarding my mouth and what I speak? Am I guarding what I hear? Am I guarding what I read and see? Am I guarding what I do? Am I really putting Father, Yeshua Jesus and Holy Spirit first, or just deceiving myself with religion? Are my motives pure? Lots to think about, meditate on, and pray about! Seek His Word and His Way! The Holy Spirit helps us in staying pure by putting God’s ways and words in our mind and heart. Ask Him to reveal truth, to help you, and to lead you. He knows your heart. He loves you.
