IMPORTANT – Pure heart test! This test is hard. We must prepare for this test. Our minds, hearts, and emotions need to be established and fixed before the test comes.
A pure heart will hold fast to Jesus and endure in the testing times of trouble. It will push back fear and hold onto the peace that passes understanding.
If my heart is purely focused on Jesus as top love and priority, then I can more easily separate from the world….by choice or even if by force. The world has trouble, but with my heart fixed on Jesus, I will be empowered to….
….say with Paul…. “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances” (Philippians 4:4).
…say with Job….” Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” (Job 1:21)
…understand what Jesus said to His the disciples, ” And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. (Matthew 19:29)
… understand what Jesus said to those who followed Him, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things (you need) will be given to you as well.”
…hear the instruction of the Lord and obey like Elijah, “Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there. So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook. Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him: “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” (1 Kings 17:2-9)
….live securely “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
…to have true heavenly treasure that no one can steal or destroy…” Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
A pure heart fixed on Jesus puts everything into perspective and priority. If the world crashes, but I am just living in it and not heart-set on it, then I will hold fast to real peace and overcome in Him! If I have the world in my heart, they I will crash and burn in fear and trembling when the world falls. We must guard our heart and keep it purely focused on Jesus. He is our ever present hope in times of trouble! He is our Savior, Yeshua, meaning “the One who saves”!
