Matthew 7: 15-20, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”
We have discussed evil tactics of deception, distraction, and infiltration in previous messages. There are many false prophets and many anti-christs (against Christ and instead of Christ) in the world. They are cunning. They promote pleasure both in physical and spiritual encounters, focus on self and man, as well as worldly prosperity. They sound good and true, but lie. They are close counterfeits to the truth in God’s Word so they can more easily deceive. They are the wolves in sheep’s clothing. Beware! Do not be gullible or ignorant. Be wise.
1 John 4:1, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
2 Timothy 4: 2-4, “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
Be very careful what you believe and who you follow! Check to see if they hold fast to the same scriptural words (in context), the straight and righteous ways, and perfect character of our Father and Good Shepherd. This requires that you know truth and that you know Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Beware of deception, distraction, and infiltration. Again be careful what you believe and who you follow!
