Are You The Bride of Christ?

If you have chosen by vow of heart, mind, and your word to follow Yeshua Jesus and let Him be your Head/Groom, then you are the bride of Christ.  You are His beloved.  He has given you Himself, His name, and a new life!  You have changed family from the father of this world and moved into His house and kingdom under the Father Creator.

Is that your decision? With such a major change, where do I start?  How then should I live?

Start by putting all the worldliness behind you and counting it as nothing, and begin to find out who you now are as the Bride of Christ in relationship to Yeshua Jesus.

Philippians 3:7-10, “…whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.  I want to know Christ..”

2 Corinthians 5: 17-18, “if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ”

John 3: 5-8, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Yeshua spoke these words in John to a Jewish Pharisee.  Jewish understanding knew that being made new in water was the required cleansing process of dunking in water pools to remove filth and sin accompanied by a heart of repentance before entering the temple and the holy presence of God. John the Baptist was also preaching repentance and being baptized/dunked in water for the remission of sins.

Remember that Yeshua Jesus told us that He is the Living Water.  We are to be baptized (go down under the water to “drown” the old man and come up a “new creation” in Yeshua Jesus in His life.  He also tells us of how we are to be dunked/baptized in the Holy Spirit.  Before His crucifixion, He told the disciples that when He went away, He would send a Comforter, the Holy Spirit to be with them.  When He appeared to them after the resurrection, He told them to wait together in Jerusalem for the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Yeshua Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to indwell us in order to help us, teach us, convict us of sin (the things we need to repent of and change), and to reveal Yeshua Jesus that we would know Him, His Word, and His Ways.  He also sends the Holy Spirit to endue us with His power and authority from on high as we are live in union with Him, in His Word, and doing His work.

We need to find out who we are in this new love relationship and position in Yeshua Jesus…this new family….this new household….this new kingdom.  We need to renew our minds to think His thoughts and we need to renew our behaviors to go His ways.  The Holy Spirit is in us to help us.  And His Word in the Bible is our marvelous library for guidance and truth.  Time to start unlearning misinformation from the world and learning truth in His Word by the revelation and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened.  And keep on asking, seeking and knocking….the Holy Spirit is a faithful Helper!
