Romans 4:18, demonstrates how we can have hope in God’s promises even when all hope seems to be against us: “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
Romans 5: 1-9 declares we have real peace and hope in Yeshua Jesus, strong enough to persevere in and through all things….
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in HOPE of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in TRIBULATION, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, HOPE. Now HOPE does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”
Romans 8: 22-28 describes our HOPE in action…in this life….” For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this HOPE, but HOPE that is seen is not HOPE; for why does one still HOPE for what he sees? But if we HOPE for what we do not see, we eagerly wait with perseverance. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 15: 4, 12-13, “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have HOPE…… Isaiah says:“There shall be a root of Jesse;
And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, in Him the Gentiles shall HOPE. Now may the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in HOPE, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
We serve our God of Hope! His great HOPE equips us to endure in times of
affliction and trouble….knowing that He will never leave or forsake us ….and can
even turn what was intended for evil into good! Yeshua Jesus came that we would
have assured HOPE!
