Old Testament Prophesies Prepare for Jesus

The greatest of God’s Old Testament prophesies pointed to the Messiah Savior to come.

In the very beginning God promised a Savior immediately after the fall of mankind. God prophesies to the serpent in Genesis 3:15, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”

In speaking to Abraham, God says in Genesis 22: 18, “In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”  And in Galatians 3:16, we see that God is prophesying concerning one Seed singular that would be for all people in all nations.  Galatians 3:16, “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.”

In speaking to Moses, God says in Deuteronomy 18:18-19, “I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.”

God reminds us again of His prophesy of the Messiah being of the seed of  King David in John 7:42, “Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”

These are direct prophesies concerning the coming Messiah Savior.

“Rose Book of Bible Charts Maps and Timelines” gives us pages 81-86 of specific Old Testament prophesies that Yeshua Jesus fulfilled in His earthly ministry. There are over 300 of these prophetic promises of God in the Old Testament concerning His Savior.  Some examples are the specifics of His genealogy mentioned above, being born in Bethlehem, born of a virgin, the massacre of children at His arrival, being called out of Egypt, to heal the deaf and blind, to be hated without reason, to be a Prophet and Teacher with amazing wisdom, to ride as king into Jerusalem on a donkey, to be accused and afflicted but not open His mouth, His becoming a Passover sacrifice as the Lamb of God, to be hung on a tree to bear the curse, to have His hands and feet pierced, to have His body pierced, to have lots cast for His garment, to be betrayed by a friend, to be sold for 30 pieces of silver, to  be raised from the dead!  Yeshua Jesus fulfilled hundreds of Old Testament prophesies!

The Old Testament has 39 books written over the span of 1000 years!  As well as these specific prophecies, the Old Testament also has prophetic foreshadowing of Yeshua Jesus in using the lives of patriarchs, prophets, as well as the tabernacle and its furnishings, the Seven Appointed Feast Days, as well as other events (Colossians 2:17, Hebrews 8:5, Hebrews 10:1). The whole Bible is all cohesive and Yeshua Jesus fulfills all in all. That is impossible with men, but possible with God.  Yeshua Jesus became the Word made flesh…He fulfills all prophecy of God’s Word.

John 1: 1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

If you were in a jury to determine if Yeshua Jesus actually was in Truth who He said He is, what would be your verdict after reading and hearing all the witnesses and seeing all the evidence of fulfilled prophesy?  Yeshau Jesus even testifies of Himself saying He is one with the Father Creator. (John 5: 18-47, Matthew 26: 62-65) Is there enough evidence to come to a solid conclusion?

If the Bible is really true, then we MUST worship Yeshua Jesus.  If it is not true, then we cannot say Yeshua Jesus is a good man because then He would be full of lies and deceit.  There is no middle ground.  The question is either true or false! Do you way “False” and hang Him on the cross?  If you say, “True”, then tell Him that you want to “side with Him’ and “follow His lead” and desire a relationship.  You will find that you will be able to add your own experience, witness, and testimony of Yeshua Jesus as reality and Truth! AND when you begin to read and study God’s Word (the Bible), it will begin to make sense and help you increase in His wisdom.
