Man was created in the image of God. God and man as “beings” have some things in common. And earth (man’s kingdom) was created as a reflection of heaven (God’s kingdom). So, heaven and earth have some things in common. God’s intension was that as it is in heaven, so it should be in earth. In the beginning, God made it all good. God is in our reality. This makes truth observable in the earth around us and also internally in our very soul and conscience.
If I see a reality or principle that works on earth and I see that reality or principle also in the Word of God, then it substantiates the truth. In other words, the Word and reality agree. Let me explain:
When I observe that an adopted child can be as loved by a good parent as much as a begotten child, then I can believe this scriptural truth…
Romans 8:15, “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba (Daddy), Father.”
When I experience disciplining my own child motivated by my love to protect him/her and lead him/her in a good life of right doing, then I can also know the truth about my Heavenly Father….
Hebrews 12:6, “the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
When I see and recognize someone or something is evil…and the Word of God verifies it, then I know it is in reality the truth:
“A worthless person, a wicked man,
Walks with a perverse mouth;
He winks with his eyes,
He shuffles his feet,
He points with his fingers;
Perversity is in his heart,
He devises evil continually,
He sows discord.
Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly;
Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.
These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.”
This description of a wicked (twisted) person matches what we find in reality. God’s Word is accurate and always true in reality. It passes the reality test every time.
The Holy Spirit has taught me many lessons based on the reality that God is our Father through Yeshua Jesus, His Son. When I am struggling with an issue or a principle, the Holy Spirit often asks me, “As a good parent with intense love for your child and his/her benefit, what would you do or say?” In this way, I have learned that sometimes God is saying “Wait” or “No” or “I am here going through this with you” or “Be strong” or “Lean on My love” or “ receive discipline and instruction for your own good” or “well done” or “I love you”, etc.
God is a good Father and always does what is right (righteous) and what is best for His children. That is who He is. That is what is displayed through His Word, the Bible. And it matches the reality of who a good parent is also. We have been created in His image and likeness. We fell, but Yeshua Jesus has made a way for us to be restored into relationship and then grow into His character….to again be like Him! You will never find any other religion that matches real, true, living, righteous reality!
