The Devil has some common tactics that can be remembered because they all begin with “D”. They are distraction, deception, desire, despair, and destruction. A good explanation of these tactics is found in the parable of the Sower and the Seed in Matthew 13 and Luke 8. These tactics come IMMEDIATELY to steal the Word of God Seed from the heart of the follower of Yeshua Jesus. Distraction keeps us so busy in the matters of this world that we have no time for God or His Word. Deception has us believing something that is true which is not…so we live in a lie and have false hopes. Desire drives us to gain pleasures of this world and strive for what we want. Despair displays itself in fear, chaos, worry, depression, and hopelessness. Trouble or destruction in our lives can bring us down when we are not standing on a firm established foundation in the Word.
Read and remember this parable. Use it to examine your own life and what is attacking you in order to separate you from Father, Yeshua Jesus Savior, and the Holy Spirit. Learn to hear His voice even in the storms and attacks of our enemy.
