Do you want to know God better? Exodus demonstrates to us another one of His characteristics that we see throughout the Bible. God speaks His Word and then performs it.
In Exodus, He spoke His Word through Moses and Aaron, and then performed it
Amos 3:7 (Amplified version), “Surely, the Lord God does nothing without revealing His secret plan (of judgment to come) to His servants the prophets.”
Consider how He did this through His prophets sent to Sodom and Gomorrah, Ninnevah, foreign kings ruling over the. Israelites (like Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar, kings of Babylon), wicked Israelite kings (like Ahab and Jezebel, even Saul became evil). God speaks a warning and an opportunity for repentance before He acts. God is grace, but also judgement on hardened hearts and minds.
For those who are His people, His Words keep fear and panic out of our lives. We just keep our eyes on Him, in faith, through the storms….and we continue into redemption from evil.
These words from God spoken to His prophets are called prophetic. All of God’s Words are prophetic because He will always do what He says! God speaks and then performs what He spoke.
2 Timothy 2:13, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, true to His Word and righteous character, for He cannot deny Himself.”
Hebrews 10:23, “Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful to His Word.”
Revelation 21″5, “Behold I am making things new. And He said, write for these words are faithful and true, they are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy.”
Isaiah 55:11, “So will My Word be which goes out of My mouth, it will not return to Me void (useless, without result), without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
John 3:33, “Whoever receives His testimony (Word) has set his seal of approval on this: God is true and he knows that God cannot lie.”
Now, you know something really important about the One True Creator Father and Yeshua Jesus, His Son, in union with the Holy Spirit! We must know Him in truth…who He really is! He speaks and then performs it.
God spoke His Word concerning the events of the last days through His prophets. It will happen. It does not work to pray against what will happen. But, we must pray.
We pray for revelation and His wisdom to be discerning. We pray to ask for courage and faithfulness for ourselves and others in His family as well as protection. We pray for repentance that people will change their minds and hearts to know He is God and choose to follow Yeshua Jesus. We put on our spiritual armor (Ephesians 6) to stand against the enemy. We trust His Word. We speak and live in His Word of absolute truth in loving Him our first love, and in loving others, yet judging evil.
Hebrews 4:12, “For the Word of God is living and active and full of power (making it operative, energizing, and effective). It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit (the completeness of a person), and of both joints and marrow (the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Know Him. He speaks and keeps His Word. We also need to aim at keeping His Word in our minds and hearts.
