Exodus in Hebrews

The book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians. They had lived under the Old Covenant law and instructions we just read about in Exodus. Now, when you read Hebrews, you will have a deeper understanding of God’s plan and prophecy fulfilled in Yeshua Jesus! The first covenant and law was a temporary prophetic foreshadow of the second final covenant and law of salvation and redemption through Yeshua Jesus!

Check out these verses in Hebrews:

Hebrews 3: 1-2, 6, “consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus Christ who was faithful to Him who appointed Him….Christ as a Son over His house, whose house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope, firm to the end.”

Hebrews 4: 14-16, “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and grace to help I time of need.”

Hebrews 5:5, “So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You.” And He also says in another place “You are a Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Who in the days of His flesh when He had offered up prayers and supplications with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was the Son of God, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered, and having been perfected, He became the author of salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest.”

Hebrews 5: 19-20, “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul both sure and steadfast and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest.”

Jesus is a new covenant, having fulfilled the old covenant…and a new law and final sacrifice. Any other sacrifice or High Priest or religious method today would be a mockery of Jesus and an abomination to God. God is hot looking for a new temple I Jerusalem with the reinitiation of religious law and animal sacrifice.

Hebrews 7:12, 19, 22, 24, 25, 27….”For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law…for the law made nothing perfect, on the other hand, there is the bringing of a better hope, through which we draw near to God…but so much more, Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant….He continues forever as an unchangeable priesthood, therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them….He did once for all when He offered up Himself.”

Hebrews 8: 1-2, 5-6, “WE have such a High Priest who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, not man….(the earthly tabernacle) is the copy and shadow of the heavenly things…He (Jesus) has obtained a more excellent ministry, in as much He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises, for if the first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been found for a second.”

Hebrews 13: 12-16, “Therefore, Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come. Therefore by Him, let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
