Revelation 12: 1-6 A Pattern

Revelation 12: 1-6 is a pattern.
John 15:20, Yeshua Jesus said, “Remember the word I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.”

Matthew 5: 11-12, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

We see this pattern in the Woman, the Dragon, and the Child as primarily being (in that same order)…God’s faithful chosen people, Satan, and Yeshua Jesus. This was covered in the previous post.

This pattern also happens in the individual life of each “born again” believer in Yeshua Jesus. When the spiritual child is “born again” as God’s chosen, the dragon comes immediately to devour the child. But, God catches the child up to His throne to save him/ her. And even while still living in this evil world, God will keep the child protected in His wilderness place of safety, where He will feed His child the manna of His Word in His quiet place! How amazing is that for a parable pattern?

We continue to read in verse 6 and on, that this is just the beginning of this battle. The spiritual war continues. Michael, who is the guardian archangel to protect those who are God’s true people in heart, fights against Satan and his principalities and powers.

Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickeness in the heavenly places.”

Revelation 12: 17 says that Satan is enraged and makes war with these “born again” children of God who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Yeshua Jesus, the Anointed Chirst.

This has always been the pattern since God created Adam and Eve. Satan came to devour them, but God set up a gospel plan to save them back to Himself. Satan came to destroy the descendants of Abraham so that the gospel promise could not be fulfilled in the birth of Yeshua Jesus, but God saved and persevered in working through the Hebrew descendants of Abraham. Satan came to persecute and kill the prophets, God’s chosen spokesmen, but God would never leave or forsake them, and He still fulfills their words. Satan came to kill Yeshua Jesus, but Satan was surprised that in Yeshua Jesus sacrificial death, Yeshua won the final victory!

Satan still persecutes God’s people today, but Yeshua Jesus told us that the gates of hell would not prevail against His assembly/family of believers and followers, those with the revelation that Yeshua Jesus is the Son of God and Savior Messiah. Matthew 16:18
While in this earth, in this age, we war against evil and must fight the good fight of faith. But, we can be assured that God is with us and our reward is in heaven.
