Hebrews 12: 5-11 The Correction and Discipline of the Lord Might Be Hard

Hebrews 12: 5-11
We just read that we need faith to get through troubles from the world and evil. In these verses, we read that we also need strong faith in God when we are working through things due to His discipline. Knowing we are His children, we should not be surprised that He is a good Father who corrects and disciplines us for our own benefit. Do not think lightly, lose courage, give up, faint, resist, or scorn His discipline; especially when it is hard. Respect Him, submit to His discipline, and endure it – even with the joy of knowing it is because He loves you! This is proper and good so that we can share in His holiness and righteousness. This will not be fun. It is usually grievous and painful. But, it yields to peace and conformity to God’s will in purpose, thought, and action; as well as spiritual maturity. His correction and discipline result in right living and continusing right standing with God. That is the narrow road that few follow. Matthew 7: 11-14.
